Isnt it a strong firm faith based on Judaism which also honours women in Mary and includes The Matriarch in all of its doctrine. They follow The Holy Bible run good schools and do an enormous amount of great work for poor sick etc worldwide. If Britain are so against Islam taking hold why dont they now grasp the biggest and strongest Christian faith and live by it. Theyre always saying how Muslims oppress their women well clearly Catholics dont and actually have a woman alongside all of their taught scriptures. It may need as an organisation some shortcomings ironing out but isnt Catholicism the best way for broken bitter hate filled anti Islamic Britain now. Better yet, why can't the world of religion actually practice what was supposedly preached about love, respect, and peace, helping the weak, providing for each other, not murdering, raping, slaughtering and commiting any manner of violent/oppressive acts all round. 'Cos that's what people keep saying THEIR god preaches? Or could it be, per chance, that too many are actually revelling and glorifying and justifying their love of such atrocious behaviour and dressing it up with religious excuses? Just a thought.

The Anglican Church, from what I understand is closer to the Roman Catholic Church than any other church. I believe they honor saints, and Mary and all. But I would think in Britain, unless they had a large influx of Irish Catholics or something (and there are a lot of Irish surnames in England, it seems to me) the Catholic Church would never regain it's pre-Henry VIII Catholicism. I mean, Bloody Mary certainly didn't do anything to win fans of the Catholic Church in Britain, even though she lived around 500 years ago or so.

It was tried and failed. They had their chance hundreds of years ago and let it slip. Why change now?

All this bluster about the western world being an immoral mess may sound convincing, but it doesn't stand up to scrutiny. In the Islamic world, people are far more likely to be starved, raped, beaten, enslaved, drugged...you name it. Our lives in the western world are far better: more free and more wealthy yes, but also kinder, gentler, more civilized in short, much more safe and less chaotic. Longer too! I don't know whether Christianity, rationalism, materialism, enlightenment, democracy, politics, culture or demographics is to credit for that...probably a mix of them all. Complex history certainly. But nothing suggests that either Islam or Catholicism offer any secrets to a better life that we should embrace at this moment. On the contrary, people who encourage religion are likely to be desperate and cynical power-mongers who have been left behind by progress and are lashing out. Tough.
