How old was too old to work in a factory between 1750- 1900?
I have a presentation at school where we have to do stuff about Factories in Britain 1750- 1900, and I have to find out about How old you have to be to leave a factory. A simple answer (I'm in Year 9), or a link will be great but I need to know ASAP!! Thanks :D

Depends what factory. Lol mostly children worked in factories between 6 and 18 then they worked in coal mines, railways etc I think for any age, it would be 60

In search for: 1900 retirement age UK I found a lot of information. Be choosy and find only what you want to know. looking for 1750 Uk I found this web page: Diseases in industrial cities in the Industrial Revolution. From somewhere I remember learning people usually died around the age of 40/45 during the 1700s. I'm you great grandmother so best of luck with that presentation.

How have regulations for car and road safety changed since the beginning of the 20th century?
I have to produce a report on this for my science coursework and am a little stuck.. :S some of the questions i need to look into are: 1) give reasons why there have been changes to speed limits for cars in Great Britain during the last hundred years 2) Who designed the first speed camera. Describe how one named type of fixed speed camera works. 3) How does the air bag work? How do air bags reduce injury? 4) Compare the features of a modern car with a very early car. Apart from air bags, describe TWO DIFFERENT safety features that are used in modern cars to reduce the risk of injury. Use ideas about speed, forces and energy to explain how these features make the car safer. Would appreciate if you could help answer any of these questions in as much detail as you can. Thank you =]

Is America ready for Islamic law? for the betterment of society
Is America ready for Islamic law? for the betterment of society?
Islamic law is now at work in many nations including great britain where special courts are now operating. What do Americans think of this movement and once it is set up here how will they respond? To expand on this, how they would operate at first, here is an example. A man assaults another man. The victim tells the police 'No I do not wish to press charge' thus bypassing the american system, and instead they will have a special hearing in an Islamic Court. This is how they are doing it in Britain very succesfully

What an interesting reversal...Americans wouldn't be too crazy about having Islamic law so it seems pretty sillly to try to set up an American style governement in Iraq.

The two cannot coexist. Suppose that a woman cheats on her husband, and he, instead of filing for divorce, goes to an Islamic court to have her stoned to death? That is unconstitutional in this country. What do you do at this juncture? Islamic law would be unconstitutional in almost every way. Also, would both people have to consent to being tried under Islamic law? Suppose a black guy shoots a muslim; can the muslim choose to bypass the American system, even if the black guy is not muslim?

i think it won't work! if that was implemented here, then the same would be applied with laws of other religions and i guess chaos would erupt. all people should be subjected to the same laws, thus everyone is treated equally instead of exemption to someone because of his/her religion.

Never again would you ever have an investigative reporter. All of them would be mouthpieces for the religion. By the way, ALL of these statements are based on recent news stories. I would be more than happy to share all of my sources for the curious ones. Well I doubt it would change information after leaving China, so I'm surprised it says it with UK customs. Anyway it's in th right place, depending on when it arrived there, give it a week to 10 days to be delivered.
