Is it necessary for me to take a TOFEL test

Is it necessary for me to take a TOFEL test?
I understand TOEFLs are very important for non native speakers who would like to work in the States or Great Britain and so on. Well I was born in Austin, Texas and I lived there for 7 years, and until this day I think in English and I am very comfortable with English. I wanted to take part in the Cambridge test in Switzerland but my teacher said it wouldn't be necessary for me because English is practically my first language. But I don't look like somebody who has English as theor first language and my name doesn't sound english either, would it bring problems for me if I don't take such a test?

Most US residents (and citizens from first world English-speaking countries) don't need the TOEFL exam. As long as you completed your high school in the English language, you're good to go.
2 :
If your High School is in english, then you dont need to take the TOEFL.

US Citizen becoming a soccer coach in the UK

US Citizen becoming a soccer coach in the UK?
I am trying to figure out what it would take to both move to Great Britain, and also end up getting a job over there. From what I have found so far it seems that you need a job offer to get a work visa. So here is the question, is there a way to live legally in England and then find a job? Is it possible as a US citizen to get an iterim job while looking for a new one in the UK? Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

The simple answer to your question is No. You need to have a firm offer of a job to obtain a work permit. With the UK unemployment figures your chances are not good. Your not a world class coack by any chance ? Right now Scotland is in need of a new Coach. The UK Embassy site has all the details you need. Ian M

You need to contact Border and Immigration and apply for a WORKING HOLIDAY VISA, and then when you have the right job, the employer can apply for a work permit on your behalf.
